Product Description

From the eclectic estate of a vintage clothing collector, a well-known and stylish lady in Historic Riverside, California -- we acquired over 250 pieces from her collection, mainly pre-40's, to pass on to new and loving homes. All items were well cared for, and have not seen much light in over 30 years.

Here is an interesting wool day dress with a fabulous grapevine design in jet black beading. This is a two-piece set, with the option to have the sleeves or not. Attached belt with hanging tassle in one side, is still Edwardian style, but the shorter length suggests circa 1920. Undergarment is  bodice with attached wool sleeves, snaps all the way up front- this part seems to fit much snugger than the out part. It's about a 26" waist and for a 36" bust at most, where the outer dress body would fit fine on up to a 38"bust and 28" waist. Keep this in mind for sizing. It's a modern size Small/Medium, best for about a modern size 5. Belt closes with snaps at side, looks like was taken in a bit and can be let out again.

Condition is only fair. Notice the missing beads in the pattern (but what a completely fabulous novelty pattern!). There is some very slight fading here and there of the brown, but not highly noticeable. There are a few scattered mothholes. Observe condition from photos. Amazingly, almost all the many buttons are still intact. Only one missing in the front which can easily be replaced by one off the sleeves.

Check measurements carefully.

A NOTE to REMEMBER, Disclaimers and Such: IF YOU ARE NEW TO VINTAGE: Welcome! But A kind word about vintage items in general - they are often One of a Kind and unique items, symbols of more stylish times.... That is what makes them so special. They should be treated with respect and preservation, as they are disappearing fast. With that said, Please keep in mind that they are just that - vintage - and unless indicated otherwise, they have an unknown history. Therefore, please don't anticipate that they will look like new unless that is specifically stated. They will likely show previous use, wear, possibly loose threads, small marks, spots etc. that is acceptable to most lovers and buyers of vintage items and are not considered flaws, but character! Please don't hang them on wire hangars or wash them like any new item. I suggest gentle soaking in Oxy Clean or dry cleaning. Please take care of your garment.
